The Malta Group of Professional Engineering Institutions was formed in the early 1960’s. It was formerly known as the Malta Joint Group, then as the Malta Group of Professional Engineers, and finally in 1999 the name was changed to the present one.

The MGPEI is the Local Network office of the following UK Institutions:

• The Institution of Civil Engineers
• The Institution of Engineering and Technology
• The Institution of Mechanical Engineers
